This blanket is formed using the same gold reflective laminate and the ceramic heat shielding insulation that is found within the traditional Funk Motorsport gold heat blanket. But now using a strong adhesive glue on the backside, to create a heat-reflective material in which can be applied with no additional adhesives or fixings required.
 
This versatile product has commonly been seen on BTCC cars cockpits to help reduce heat transfer inside the car, whilst also being used as a thermal wrap around induction systems on Drift cars. 
Traditionally, it would be common to use a product such as Gold Foil tape, or gold reflective heat tape for such applications – though this can be effective when in the quest to lower intake air intake temperatures, sometimes the heat can be more intense and require a heat wrap which can deal with both radiant heat transfer, as well as conventional heat transfer. With the gold taping layer combined with the fireproof matting beneath, this helps to create a solid all-round product in the heat lagging world.
 
This type of product is used heavily in the Aerospace industries, with NASA utilising gold to protect within the harsh environements in space and re-entry to the Earth. The gold heat blanket can reflect away up to 70% of all radiant heat transfer!
